When you need strength
For when you've been strong for too long and you're running out. Strength is available that doesn't come from you.
You don't have to generate this on your own. There's strength available that isn't dependent on how strong you feel today.
“They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary.”
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
Through Christ - not through sheer willpower.
“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”
Strength is given most to those who have none left.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Very present - right here, right now.
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”
Strong in his might, not just yours.
“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped.”
Trusted, and helped.
Lord, I'm running out of strength. Renew me today. Give me enough courage for the next hour and the next step, and remind me I don't have to carry this alone. Amen.
